Summary
Find out how rewards can be used to motivate pupils as behaviour expert Sue Cowley discusses techniques with NQT Chris Farnen.
Chris talks Sue through the rewards sytems already in place, which he uses with his Year 5 mixed ability class at Welford Primary.
The school already has a successful Passport to Success scheme and Chris also uses a table points system to encourage his pupils.
Sue suggests that, alongside these individual and group rewards, a whole class reward where pupils have to work together to achieve an occasional treat, can also work well as this encourages cooperation and social skills.
