Summary

In this programme, we examine the strong sporting ethos of Lyndhurst Primary School in Oldham.

Pupils at this school take part in a wide range of sports activities throughout the day, with Year 6 pupils even organising their own sports club at lunchtimes.

Learning mentor Karen Seth was inspired to start the lunchtime scheme after noticing how much the children loved being taught PE by visiting secondary students.

She thought Lyndhurst's Year 6 pupils could benefit from a similar role, coaching the school's younger pupils.

Headteacher Andrew Feeley says he has seen a marked improvement in lunchtime behaviour and believes the children return to class with more positive energy, ready to learn.
