Summary

Sue Cowley, behaviour management expert, visits a Year 3 teacher in Birmingham, to help him get his young class to co-operate and work together more, in this classroom management and pedagogy resource.

During a group-work session in Baz Barrett's KS2 classroom, some of the children find it difficult to work in groups. As with many teachers at the beginning of their careers, Baz intends his young class to co-operate when he asks them to carry out group work.

Sue watches the lesson back with Baz and they discuss how to facilitate more productive group-work activities and prevent misbehaviour. Sue gives Baz a range of strategies as they discuss how to reduce the inappropriate behaviour that some of the children display during group work at Ward End Primary School in Birmingham.
