Colin Rutherford, Executive Chairman

As Executive Chairman, Colin is responsible for investment, strategic direction and the global expansion of the Teachers Media brand. He is the founder investor and Chairman of Teachers Media.

Colin has substantial credentials as a corporate leader and is a highly sought-after advisor in the realm of international business, finance, and the global economy. He is the former Executive Chairman of Midas Capital plc a UK based investment management company, with a quoted $3.7 billion in assets under management. He continues to sit on the boards of several other private and publicly traded companies in the UK and internationally.

Colin is also a former board member and visiting professor at Edinburgh University's Business Management School. With his interest in education, Colin recognized the value of the Teachers TV model, and following the decision by the Department for Education to cut funding saw an opportunity to expand and commercialise the concept on an international scale - leading to the formation of Teachers Media.

Angela Ney, Director - International Business Development

Angela is responsible for the development of Teachers Media's sales in the UK and internationally. She is also the driving force behind Teachers TV Canada.

Prior to joining Teachers Media, Angela's career has spanned both sides of the Atlantic Ocean, with a focus on companies working in education, training, curriculum development and learning technologies. Most recently she was Director of Business Development, for an e-learning company called Castlerock Research.

Angela is a special needs teacher and has over 15 years experience of working within education.

Tom Gordon, Chief Technical Officer

Tom is responsible for all technical development and management for Teachers Media in the UK and worldwide.

Previously Tom was Director of Digital Services at Teachers TV where he led both the UK and Thai development teams. He was responsible for the software, hardware and technical architecture that ensured the delivery of the Teachers TV service on the web and achieved over 99% uptime.

Tom has over 15 years experience of working within IT and in particular with the Internet, including roles as Head of Web Development at Hachette Fillipachi and IAM Architect at Salford University, developing a mobile social network for Pitch Entertainment as well as setting up and running his own company to develop TV, mobile and cross-platform based products and services.

David Libbert, Content and Education Director

David is responsible for the editorial and creative direction of all video, text and interactive content and the management of both the archive and new commissions for Teachers Media. He also leads on the development of professional development and classroom support products.

David has over 25 years experience in broadcast, online and interactive media, with a particular focus on educational video and interactive applications for professionals, adults and children.

In his previous post as Creative Director at Teachers TV, he led the commissioning team and oversaw the editorial and user experience of the website during his 6 years at the company. He has also held senior executive roles at BBC Learning and the Learning and Skills Council.

 

Pat Fawdry, Project and Marketing Manager

Pat is responsible for all aspects of project management and is coordinating the launch of the Teachers Media website in both the UK and Canada. She also works on Teachers Media's marketing and communications.

Pat joined Teachers Media having previously worked at Teachers TV as the Marketing and Communications Projects Executive, where she worked on a wide range of marketing campaigns and projects to build new audiences.

Prior to working for Teachers TV, Pat worked as a product manager for EMI Records and Pearson New Entertainment.

Anna Pedroza, Marketing and Communications Consultant

Anna is responsible for launching Teachers Media and growing the audience for the service. She is advising on all aspects of marketing and communications.

Prior to setting up as an independent consultant, Anna was Director of Marketing and Communications at Teachers TV where she led on all activities to develop and grow the Teachers TV audience. Previously Anna was a Director at the educational charity CfBT.
