Will Teachers Media be planning to offer paid services?
The Teachers TV archive will always remain free to stream, however we will be charging for some services in the future, helping to cover operational costs.
What next?
Teachers Media is all about helping you make the best use of the Teachers TV archive for professional development and to support you in the classroom.
Teachers Media will consult widely with the people working in schools to help develop the services and products that will add the most value for you.
To hear further announcements about our new content and developments sign up for our emails, follow us on Twitter or Like us on Facebook.
Promotional business sales and opportunities
If you are interested in discussing business opportunities with Teachers Media, such as international partnerships, sponsorship and advertising opportunities, please contact Angela Ney, President of Teachers Media at angela.ney@teachersmedia.co.uk.
Why can't videos be downloaded?
At present Teachers TV videos are unavailable to download from our website. Following the closure of the Teachers TV service the Department for Education is not funding the operation of the archive. In light of this, Teachers Media needs to be able to identify revenue streams to cover the operational costs and to provide funding for the production of new content.
We are currently looking to develop services that could help to provide revenue streams to cover these costs.
We appreciate that access to downloading was a valued aspect of the Teacher TV service and we will bear this in mind as we progress our plans.
Where is the video I am looking for?
The Teachers Media website contains the full archive of all the original Teachers TV videos that we are licensed to use by the Department for Education. However there were some programmes on the Teachers TV site that were acquired from third parties, in particular a number of classroom videos, and these are not available on our site. Please contact us if you believe the video you are looking for should be on the Teachers Media website at info@teachersmedia.co.uk and we will try and help you to find it.
What happened to the extra videos with the series Better Learning with ICT and Wellbeing at Work?
Better Learning with ICT and Wellbeing at Work were series that were previously available with extra videos and resources through the enhanced video play.
The enhanced video player functionality that existed on the Teachers TV website is not currently available on the Teachers Media website. We are looking into how to bring back these extra resources in the future.
Are videos subtitled?
Yes, approximately 20 per cent of all videos from the archive are subtitled. To see if a video is subtitled just refer to the information on the video page.
I am an international visitor, why can’t I access the videos?
Teachers TV videos are available to users in the UK free of charge but, at present, the service is not available to international visitors. We will continue to review this and will publicise any changes through our email updates , on Twitter and Facebook.
In the meantime, if you are interested in funding access to the Teachers TV archive (or partnering with us) in your country please contact Angela Ney, VP Business Development and Sales, at angela.ney@teachersmedia.co.uk.
Where are the Related links and Extra materials that accompany videos?
Many Teachers Media videos are provided with web links and resources for use in schools. They are listed on video pages under the Related links and Extra materials headings. Not all downloads and related links are currently available as part of the free Teachers TV archive.
My old Teachers TV link doesn’t work
The Teachers Media website uses the same folder structure as Teachers TV, therefore if you have any links to old Teachers TV content, just change the words from “teachers.tv” to “teachersmedia.co.uk” in the URL and the link will take you to your favourite videos, providing they are still available in the archive. For example:
'http://www.teachers.tv/videos/story-writing-seven-dramatised-clips' becomes 'http://www.teachersmedia.co.uk/videos/story-writing-seven-dramatised-clips'
A video refers to a web link that doesn’t work anymore
The video is referring to a Teachers TV link, which is no longer available through that URL. However to see if the content is still available on the Teachers Media website, try swapping the words from “teachers.tv” to “teachersmedia.co.uk” in the URL and the link will take you to the specific area, providing it is still available in the archive. For example:
'http://www.teachers.tv/behaviour' becomes 'http://www.teachersmedia.co.uk/behaviour'
Where are comments?
Comments are no longer available on the Teachers Media website. However, we are considering introducing this feature in the future. Previous comments from the Teachers TV website have not been passed on to us by the Department for Education.
Where are groups?
Groups were part of the Teachers TV website, and are not available on the Teachers Media website. You can however, follow us on Twitter, Like us on Facebook, or sign up to our weekly email service.
I have another question
